Randolph featured in 2018 菲斯克 Guide to Colleges

菲斯克 Guide to Colleges logoRandolph College was again recognized among the nation’s “best and most interesting” institutions in the 2018 edition of the 菲斯克 Guide to Colleges.

的 菲斯克 Guide to Colleges does not rank universities and colleges numerically, but assesses the strengths and weaknesses of what it considers the top institutions in United States, 加拿大, and Great Britain. Schools included in the popular guidebook were chosen from more than 2,200 four-year colleges.

的 菲斯克 profile touts Randolph’s strong academic programs, faculty/student relationships, close community, and international focus. 的 editors wrote, “With rich traditions, 舒适的宿舍, and challenging, seminar-based classes, Randolph College has preserved the best elements of the past, while evolving into an institution that remains relevant today.”

Students praised Randolph for its interdisciplinary, liberal arts curriculum. “It forces you to explore different areas and take classes in almost every department,” according to a student quoted in the book. “I never thought I would major in psychology, but I took a psych class my spring semester and loved it!”

Students also said the Honor Code and close relationships with faculty and others in the College community are what make Randolph special. “的 professors genuinely care that students learn the material and even have fun doing it,” one student said.

Another student commented that a wide variety of student organizations like the Macon Activities Council (MAC) host fun events and other entertainment outside of class.

“的 surrounding area does offer a good social scene, but the real scene is inside the Red Brick Wall. We have a number of secret societies, clubs, and other social organizations.”

Compiled by former New York Times education editor Edward B. 菲斯克, the top independent voice in college admissions, 菲斯克 Guide to Colleges 2018 ($24.99) offers “a selective, subjective and systematic look” at more than 300 colleges and universities in the United States, 加拿大 and Great Britain. 的 菲斯克 Guide to Colleges is also available as an iPad app on iTunes and a web program on www.CollegeCountdown.com.
